Yankees take the Grapefruit League by storm

There’s always talk about the Cactus league games because it’s closer to Cali, but over in the Grapefruit League in Florida, there has been some really great games too.

The New York Yankees took on the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday with a win of 4-3. During the first two innings, both teams were scoreless until the top of the third the Phillies hit a sacrifice fly to center for Cozens to score. With the bases loaded, top of the fifth, Alfaroo was hit by a pitch allowing the Phillies to score again leading 2-0. In the bottom of the fifth, Wade singled to right for Dury to score. Both teams were unable to score in the sixth inning until Andujar doubled to deep left and Payton scoring tying the game up 2-2. The Phillies didn’t make a come back to take the lead again. In the bottom of the eighth, Saez singled to cent for Kratz to score, Yankees take the lead 3-3. The ninth inning, both Phillies and Yankees hit home runs allowing the Yankees to win the game.
