Hawaiis big island still dealing with aftermath of volcanic eruption

The volcano that erupted on Hawaii’s Big Island recently ripped open some streets with lava flowing out from it. From this incident, 31 homes have been destroyed. Over 1,700 residents have now been evacuated. So far there have been no reports of deaths. The lava erupted and shoot up to 100 feet in the air near the island of Pahoa. Thousands of people had to quickly pack their things and leave somewhere far with fear of the lava coming for them. The National Guard is now on the island helping residents find shelter and safety.
