On Tuesday, September 6 seniors gathered in the Whitmer Auditorium to receive information about the events to come later in the year.

Principal Joda Murphy announced to the senior class that graduation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Memorial Stadium. She then emphasized that students must have no more than 9 unverified absences and no more than 9 tardies to walk in the commencement ceremony or participate in senior activities.

Herff Jones attended the assembly and showed students the products they had to offer such as class rings, letterman jackets, and the traditional cap and gown. Then the following night, September 7, Herff Jones returned to go over their packages with parents and allow purchases to be made. While these details are informative to some, some seniors feel anxious with this knowledge. One senior who wishes to remain anonymous said the senior assembly “heightened my stress and made me sad because I know I won’t be able to afford a lot of what is being offered.”

At the assembly, Herff Jones did say they would be in campus at various times throughout the year and is available online for access to manage any questions or payments.
