Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.

The drinking fountain outside the 100 building on Colton High campus was originally built in 1938. In 1983, the freshman class (class of 1986) raised funds to have the fountain renovated with alternating tiles of crimson and gold, the school colors. A plaque was added in recognition of both classes of 1983 and 1986.

In 2018-2019, Colton Joint Unified Maintenance and Operations restored the drinking fountain to its former glory after years of weather had damaged the landmark.
