Colton, CA—On April 11, 2025, Colton High had their annual Spring Pep Rally in the Ken Hubbs gym.
The rally was inspired by the Blue Sky Studios movie “Rio”. Throughout the week, ASB held a Rio themed spirit week and on one of the selected days, students were told to find blue feathers along the school.
On Pep Rally day, students with the most blue feathers were to receive prizes during the rally, but due to the rally being slightly behind schedule, the prizes weren’t able to be awarded during the rally.
There were performances from NJROTC, Feel the Rhythm, Hip-Hop Club, Marching Band, Cheer, a student grupo, as well as announcements from Uncommon Club, Track and Field, Baseball, and Softball.
One of the Senior Performers Genesis Rodella said, “I’m currently the drum major for the stage with marching band and this is my last rally as the drum major. It’s honestly really sad considering I’ve done this like a million times, so as long as it is kind of bittersweet.”
Towards the end of the rally, the Prom Court was announced as the court members all walked down together.
One of the Prom Nominee Destiny Munoz said “It’s so fun and it’s really exciting. And I’m just so grateful to have made it this far, I’m a little nervous just a bit, but I’m just nervous about falling.”
The day after, on April 12, 2025, at The Colony House in Anaheim, Seniors and Juniors took the time to get ready so they could dance the night away at Prom.
People got to dance, eat both dinner and dessert, and had choices to go take pictures at the photobooths, get a five second clip taken and turned into a flipbook, and sit under a light where a lady could cut out your silhouette and give it to you.
The winners of Prom King and Queen were Nam Hoang and Jayda Porter where they shared a first dance along with flowers and a new sash.
