The challenges of making it to CHS Principal’s Honor Roll or Honor Roll

Colton High School has two different types of honors, according to Colton High School’s handbook it indicates that Honor Roll “has established the following criteria for Honor Roll: 3.0 GPA, and no D’s or F’s. Only graded classes will count, and enrollment in a minimum of 20 credits of graded classes is required.” As for Principal’s Honor Roll, “has established the following criteria for Honor Roll: 3.5 GPA, no Ds or Fs. Only graded classes will count, and enrollment in a minimum of 20 credits of graded classes is required.”
According to Priscilla Gonzalez, a former Sophomore student at Colton High School, stated that, ¨It was pretty difficult and challenging to get Principal’s Honor Roll. It was one of my many goals, but it was well worth it since it shows how much I’ve progressed over the semesters since Freshman year. The difficult challenges I went through to keep myself on track for my goals was prioritizing what mattered more from outside of school activities, like football games, volleyball games, or hanging out with friends after school. So really I had to put a lot more focus on my grades especially if I want to make it into a good college and have the right state of mind of what will be better in the long run.”
Another former sophomore student at Colton High School, Kimberly Castellanos, got Principal’s Honor Roll as well and made top ten her freshman year for both semesters. She also admitted that, “Yes, it was difficult and very challenging since I do a lot of extra curricular activities after school, which made it harder for me to have enough time to complete all my homework and to study for tests since I was in honors classes and still am at this moment. But overall I think the most difficult part was the amount of sleep I didn’t get for a while, but it was well worth it.”
Overall, I think making it to Principal’s Honor Roll or just Honor Roll is pretty challenging but the more you think about it, it will help in the long run.
