Boys Varsity Basketball Make Playoffs

Colton High School’s Boys Varsity basketball team is going to the playoffs for the first time in over nine years, according to Varsity boys coach, Sean Hodder. The team will play Crescenta Valley High School this Friday, February 17th.

Coach Hodder said that the team is focusing hard on rebounds and defense against the other team’s rebounders, to get them ready for the playoffs. The team also reviews their game films to critique and better their game. When I asked Coach Hodder how the team prepares for playing other teams, he stated that he “talks with other coaches and checks for film on YouTube.”

This year’s team is inspired by other teams from the past. The team is focused on, “being a team, not individuals”, according to Coach Hodder. The Varsity team is also coached by Ty Gordon.
