I surveyed many players from the Colton High Varsity Football team to see what they do in the offseason to stay in shape for football. Of the players I surveyed 32 players play eight different sports; three players do double sports other than football.
The majority of the football players I spoke to are on the track team. Some of them run and some are in field events like shot put, discus and long jump. The next largest groups of football players play basketball. These two sports do a lot to keep up their conditioning for the next football season.
The other players surveyed play a variety of different sports from baseball to mixed martial arts to wrestling to just lifting weights.
Because of the high level of competition in the league, Colton High football players feel they must play another sport to be able to keep up their strength and conditioning to play Yellow Jacket football.
