Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Jan. 25
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
In 1941 The Colton Varsity Baseball team was very successful in getting plenty of victories over rivals. “Excellent fielding, good hitting, and all around smooth playing our own varsity baseball squad is among the top members of the Tri- County League.”
The team captain, Clarence Jaime, led Colton into beating some of the supposedly powerful teams of the circuit, knocking them off the charts. Seniors, including Domenic Ferrante and Glenn Preece, were needed in the outfield when it came to the opposition turning powerful offense. This is a team we could all be indeed proud of.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
