WWE made a stop on the road to Wrestlemania to the Inland Empire for its groundbreaking newest show, “SmackDown Live”, which aired live on Tuesday, February 21st exclusively on the USA network. It was a night where the crowd was on fire and the atmosphere was electric. This would not only be the show that would be recorded live, but also WWE’s newest show 205 Live as well as a recording for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new documentary coming later in 2017.

The night started off hot as General Manager for the show, former wrestler, Daniel Bryan came out and announced the vacation of the SmackDown Women’s title due to former (and then newly crowned) champion Naomi. As the crowd cheered to pay their respect towards Naom in the spark of the event, Bryan would make a match that would hype the entire building and kick things off hot with a title match to determine a new champion between two former champions in Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch. That match would end in spectacular fashion as Bliss would win and become a two-time champion.

As the night rolled on, the crowd was on its feet for its highly anticipated Falls Count Anywhere match between Nikki Bella and Natalya. The two women stars tore down the house at the Citizens Business Bank Arena as they fought all over the arena from in the ring to inside the crowd to the backstage area. The atmosphere was definitely on fire as they would cheer on their respectable star. However, an interference from WWE superstar, Maryse, caused Natalya to get the win over Bella and declared herself the winner.

In the main event, a huge battle royal was made to determine the number one contender for  the coveted WWE Championship, who would have a match at Wrestlemania. The key players in this match would include AJ Styles, John Cena, The Miz and a dark horse in Luke Harper, all heavy favorites to win and go on to Wrestlemania. As the match rolled on after multiple eliminations, it came down to the final two in AJ Styles and Luke Harper. With the anticipation high, the two would fight it out until both men went over the top rope and landing at the same time, ending the match with some controversy. With no instant replay provided, Daniel Bryan would announce that the next week, both men would be in combat to determine who would face the champion at the biggest event of the year.

Although it ended with a questionable decision, that night solidified as one of the best episodes in its short history. Everyone in the building had the time of their lives being apart of the historic episode. Many can not wait for when WWE comes back to the Inland Empire later on this year. With incredible action and a hot crowd, there was no question that this was a night to remember!
