The Colton Varsity Football team received a win in their homecoming against the Fontana Steelers, 21-14. In one back-and-forth battle, both the Jackets and the Steelers looked to outshine one another, trying to gain an advantage but from the start of the game, was unsuccessful. It was a classic game of defense as neither team were unable to gain yards.

However, when it came to the middle of the first half, the scoring drought was ended as Junior  Running Back Laurence Campbell scored the first touchdown of the game to rally the home crowd up. All hype was with the Crimson and Gold as they kept the Steelers from scoring for the rest of the first quarter. Although it may have seemed that the Jackets’ were unstoppable, the Steelers’ Wide Receiver Maurice Powell found a way past the momentum and scored two touchdowns, which would pave the lead towards the rest of the half.

After the Homecoming Queen was announced during Court Nomination Ceremony, the YellowJackets came back with fire. The offense was able to surpass the Steelers’ defense and took control. It was not until Sophomore Running Back Brennen Ramos who contributed two touchdowns to gain them the lead. This lead would stay strong for the rest of the game, giving Colton the win for its Homecoming Game.
