Varsity Football gets the W, Silencing the Moreno Valley crowd
October 12, 2016
The Colton Varsity football team had a match up against the Moreno Valley Vikings. Its kick off and the jackets are to receive the ball to Junior Wide Receiver, Laurence Campbell. Caught the ball and ran for a good amount of yards. On the Colton Offense, Quarterback Joseph Resendes, starting, hikes the ball and pulling off a triple option, fooling the defense thinking it’s an inside handoff. Resendes runs to the outside following the Vikings second defensive attempt, thinking that he was going to run but pitches the ball to Campbell, who goes for a run about 6 yards. Starting off the game good, Colton had the crowd sounding off but a sudden fumble occurred and Moreno Valley recovered. Its defense turn on itself and the field the Vikings looked to excite the hyped home crowd.
On the 2 and 10, The Vikings go for a long pass taking their chances and they catch it the yellowjackets behind a touchdown but that doesn’t mean anything to them. So offense goes back on the field and the offence can’t get off on the snap another fumble and the vikings recover again defence on the field again and now the defence is working hard to stop the offence. And the vikings score again the score now 13-0 the jackets down by two touchdowns. the coaches coming up with a game plan by halftime the score 21-0 the jackets still haven’t scored they have a lot of work to do in these last 2 quarters. After 3rd quarter the score was 40-0 it’s a tough game for the jackets they don’t know what to do to make a come back so they still play with a full heart the coaches mad.
However, the Jackets hasn’t yet to give up on the defensive end, still trying their best so they don’t score again than the vikings score again the score 47-0 now offence needs to score they make a touchdown Resendes running it in for a touchdown, making the score 47-7
The Vikings get the ball defense with a great stop but they score a field goal leaving the game to an end the score 50-7 the jackets go home with a lost but it’s ok the jackets still have more games to go into now it’s GT week their mind set is all on their hometown rival.
