The Los Angeles Lakers recently fired their head coach, Bryon Scott, after the 2015-16 NBA season, a season which saw the team going 17-65 overall, which was the worst record that the franchise had ever faced in its entire history–and that’s including when they debuted in Los Angeles back in 1960.

After the season was over, the search was on for a coach to help guide and teach the youth that the Lakers roster currently has, so that they can be back in the playoff picture. With more money in their stock, they had the opportunity to hire a great coach that can not only be a leader but also a major key to the team’s success. From former head coach for the Thunder, Scott Brooks to former Pacers coach, Frank Vogel, the Laker organization had a lot of options/contenders that could be the spark in this 5-year losing drought.

After many contenders, the Lakers would  finally select current Warriors assistant coach and former Laker, Luke Walton. Walton, son of legendary basketball player Bill Walton, was one of the masterminds behind the Warriors’ championship win in the 2014-15 season, knowing what it takes to win a title. There are a lot of questions on if Luke can lead the team to a brighter future. However, there is no denying that the fans that there is hope for the Lakers, that they can have a good season, and possibly have the coach that can lead the team to success.
