Yellowjackets Boys Basketball team had recently taken a loss, 47-43, against Kaiser Cats in a close game at Colton High School. Junior Varsity Coach, Sean Hodder, substituting for head coach, Ty Gordon, before the game saying, “This is going to be a good game. They are a very good team. This is definitley going to be a game to watch.” The first half was an all out war, both teams were having a scoring outburst. Point Guard, Michael Guzman scored nonstop from three point territory and Center David Perez dominated in the post by putting up 14 points.

After the halftime break, the struggle then continued with more defense than offense. Former Varsity football player, Power Forward, Jason Taylor contributed two blocks and added ten points to his stats as well. It was only a matter of time where defense turned back to offense, as Shooting Guard Dylan Lyons and Small Foward Matthew Gomez put up some amazing numbers, with 15 points apiece. The game then ended with a three point shot from Kaiser in the last few seconds of the fourth quarter, ending the game, silencing the home crowd.

Guzman said after the game, “It was a very close game. We thought our offensive game plan would work, but it did not this time. It was a back and forth battle, and we did great.”
