Varsity football gets first home victory against Cajon Cowboys, 36-7

The Yellowjackets dominated this past Friday night and captured their first home game victory, 36-7, against Cajon High School’s Cowboys in front of their hometown crowd. Coach Mailo commented before the game, “We’re gonna win, dominate, and execute tonight. The key is not to worry about them, we’ll worry about us.”

The first half consisted of DeAndre Graham and Running Back Jared Campa contributing one touchdown each, to fire up the Yellowjackets. Isaiah Webb locked it in with his field goals to put them ahead. The excitement of the first half came to a screeching halt when LaVonte Wilson was injured.

After the halftime break, the Yellowjackets were on fire. The excitement continued  when Jordan Huesca and DeAndre Graham showed off their tremendous speed and agility by each making it into the end zone. Once again, kicker Webb came through for the team with his field goals. This was the half that sealed the win for the Yellowjackets.

Graham said, “The first home is always special. My team and I were ready for this game. We were dominant tonight. We are a young and small team but, we are going to dominate and tear through this league.”

The crowd was on their feet; the school band led them in victory songs, the fans were cheering their team on, it was a great game and a great night for some varsity football.
