The girls varsity tennis match on September 10th was a must-see event. They gave it their all in their loss against Citrus Valley in four sets. It was a face-off that no one should have missed. Both teams put it all out on the line, one hundred percent. This was a huge battle all the way to the end!
The first set was a strong one for Colton, their drive and determination was absolutely terrific. It was a battle that will be talked about for a long time. Colton Girls Tennis team captain, Kat Lopez contributed amazing numbers, scoring seven points. Set number two became a back-and-forth war. Scoring left and right, both team captains scoring, it was absolute madness. Second team captain, Eunice Hernandez came into that set with great effort and drive, contributing 13 points. Both teams were putting amazing numbers for both the second and third set.
In the fourth and final set, it was basically the icing on the cake for fans of both schools. Both Colton and Citrus were going all out, giving everything they had. It was rally after rally, a true war. They were fighting like it was the championship match. Until, finally, Citrus Valley came out on top with the win. Team Captain Kat Lopez said, “They were playing back and forth. Each set was a challenge. We had to go up against hard opponents. Citrus is a very strong and powerful squad; our girls did very well.”
