Nate’s Sports Bar – Week of January 14th

BASKETBALL

Boy’s Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball hosted Summit on Tuesday, January 8 here at Colton High School. JV dominated Summit with a score of 50-33 and Varsity with a narrow victory of 57-53. This was the first game of league play. The boys played away at Grand Terrace and won both games. JV beat Grand Terrace 43-37 and Varsity had an intense game but came out ahead with at score of 59-43.

Girl’s basketball played away at Summit High School Varsity but lost 55-19. The girls also hosted Grant Terrace here at Colton. The girls played hard but lost to Grand Terrace, JV 32-15 and Varsity 72-30.

SOCCER

Girl’s soccer played their first league game at Summit High School but, had a heartbreaking loss to Summit 1-0. Thursday the Lady Jackets faced Grand Terrace. Both teams came out strong and an amazing goal by Crystal Beccera, and as a result Colton took the lead 1-0. Grand Terrace scored late in the second half to end the game in a tie. Players of the Week on the Defensive were Lauren Fisher and on the Offensive was Crystal Beccera.
