Chris Mailo is returning as this year’s Head Varsity Football Coach. I interviewed Chris about his thoughts about this year’s team.
How does it feel being in a new league?
Mailo – “It’s a fresh start and we have found a home.”
Do you feel it will make a big difference having a full season with the team?
Mailo – “Yes, I hope so. We are excited.”
Do you think the team will do better?
Mailo – “I hope so. We take it one day, one quarter and one play at a time.”
What are your team’s strengths?
Mailo- “The team has come together this season. The seniors have taken leadership and they lead by my example.”
Where do you think you need to improve?
Mailo- “Line up right, 9 out 10 times.”
What are the goals that you want to achieve this year?
Mailo- “Make the play-offs, get a league title and win the CIF championships.
Who is the team you are looking forward to playing?
Mailo- “It’s hard to say. We will take it one game at a time. OK, Grand Terrace, it will be a fun match up.”
What do you expect from your players?
Mailo- “I expect my kids to be good young men, be honest, have integrity and always do what is right.
Do you think this team has good chemistry?
Mailo- “I think so. After seeing them play last Friday, they came together, they are like family.
