Having started with a winning streak going 4-0 at the beginning of the season, Colton’s boys’ varsity soccer team showed a promising season for the first few games coming 11-12. But after losing to Cajon 2-1 in the first round due to poor execution, Colton’s road to back-to-back league champs is now on a slump, not to mention they took a 2-1 victory against Cajon in the Riverside Poly Tournament several weeks before their first league match.
On Thursday of last week, the second round began badly for Colton, with another loss which made them realize they’ve not been playing as a team and they need to step it up. They played at Rialto, handing them a clean sheet victory of 4-0. This was shocking to everyone else but the team. They’ve previously beaten Rialto in the first round 2-0. But this time, Rialto showed up to play.
Colton is now 4-2-2 in league and they’re hoping to rise up and come back in the second round with six games left in the season.
Today they play home against Carter, which they’ve already beaten 4-1 first round of the season. Can Colton rise up from the slump?
