Colton High Schools Girls Tennis team has been “doing good” according to Coach Urban. Our team is now 6-4 and we are currently ranked at #3 in the league. One of the girls tennis captain, Bree Reyes says “As a team, we have improved a lot and it would be even better if we got more support from our peers”. This will also be the final year for our senior captains Bree Reyes, Megan Brinkman, Claudia Gutierrez, and Raquel Contreras.
P.B: How long have you been playing tennis?
Bree: This is my 4th year. I’ve been playing since Freshman year.
Megan: I’ve been playing since Sophomore year
Claudia: This is my 4th year. I’ve been playing since Freshman year.

P.B: Have you noticed an improvement in the tennis team?
Bree: Yes, we’ve had a lot more practice and drills. It seems as if every year the team gets better.
Megan: Yes, we’ve gotten better over time because of all the drills and we have a good coach.
Claudia: Yes I have, we’ve been practicing more.
Raquel: Yes we have.
P.B: Does the team have a good chance of going to the finals?
Bree: We have a good chance of placing and it won’t be a problem getting to 2nd round.
P.B: Will you continue to play tennis in college?
Bree: I want to start out in club and see how I do then compete. I will try to keep up with it because I love it.
Megan: Yes, if the college I go to has a tennis team then I will join. If not then I will still continue doing it for fun.
Claudia: I’ll still do it for fun but not for a team.
Raquel: Yes, I would like to.
P.B: What will you miss most about playing on the high school tennis team?
Bree: I will miss the friends I have made, how fun it is and our great coach.
Megan: I’ll miss the team, the friends I have gotten close to over the years.
Claudia: The friends I have made and playing against other teams.
Raquel: I will miss playing against other schools and I will miss my partner Bree.
