Is the Orange Show experience overhyped?

Frankie Delgado, Reporter

I found myself bored during my weekend which was very unusual for me. Usually, weekends are supposed to be fun so you could let loose from all of the stress of finals and grades. After a few hours of being home, I decided to go to the Orange Show, where the fun is supposed to be at. An amusement park is supposed to have good food, rides, and games. Sadly, it was a different story once I got there. My Orange Show experience might save you a trip from going there!

Getting there was no hassle; however, once we arrived we came to find out that, just for parking, it was twenty dollars! I wondered why it would cost so much but I soon realized why. As I was walking around with my friends I noticed that no one had prizes in their hands. This was because the games were so hard that no one wanted to play. They had to make their money in one way or another so the parking prices definitely went up. I even tried to play a game of throwing a ball into a bucket six times in a row to win a huge prize. Once I started playing, I realized that they messed with the game in order for everyone to keep loosing. Of course, this just leads me to lose my money and leaving with no prize.

One of the good things, however, was the animals! I stumbled upon a pig race with professional pig runners. It was honestly so cool to see these little pigs run and jump hurdles like nothing. It was an amazing sight that I won’t forget. However, there was one particular animal that just broke my heart. I saw a monkey in captivity that was forced and trained to wear an Aladdin suit, take money, and put it into his pocket and stay standing on two feet only. Keep in mind that he was being tugged and pulled by a dog leash from a huge man sitting down. It was so sad to see this little animal being forced to stand up and have no breaks. I hope that one day it goes back to where it belongs in the wild to live its best life.
