There are various diseases and disorders that can happen within the urinary system. Each of these diseases and disorders can be caused by a number of different reasons. Some of these diseases include different types of bladder cancer,  while there are still other disorders like Urinary Incontinence or Interstitial Cystitis.

According to the American Cancer Society’s web page, there are many types of cancers that you can get within the urinary system. The cancer that you are more likely to get is called Urothelial Carcinoma. This cancer starts where the bladder is lined. But if you have this type, it can also affect other parts of your urinary system if it spreads. Some of these include your kidneys, ureters, and urethra.  If you have it, there are two ways to determine how far in it has gone.

The first one is where it is in the cell but it hasn’t actually gone into the layers. This is called non-invasive. The second one is called invasive, which is the opposite. By this stage, the cancer has already gone into the inner layers and this makes it harder to get rid of or treat it. After this, there are two parts that go under that known as papillary and flat cancer. These go under both non-invasive and invasive depending how they spread or grow. If they go into deep layers it is invasive. If it grows in the surface and into the middle it is non-invasive.

The other types of cancer that you get are less common. For example, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, which is considered a flat cancer. Then there is Adenocarcinoma which is an invasive type of cancer. Small cell carcinoma that grows fast. Lastly, there is Sarcoma which gets the muscles of the bladder. If you have any of these you would have to go through these stages. The first is the clinical stage which is just where you see what you can do to get rid of the cancer. The second one is the actual process of getting rid of it known as the pathologic stage.
