The Los Angeles Lakers have taken the worst hit in franchise and possibly NBA history by beginning the NBA season with a less than stellar record of 1-7. The team’s recent acquisition of former Laker, Bryon Scott, as new head coach had high expectations for a better season than 2013-14. It seems that they need to have hope and look to get to the playoffs despite their record early on.
On the heels of a successful preseason, they thought they would move farther with contributions from number six draft pick, Julius Randle. But the light of a bright new season then turned into complete darkness as Point Guard Steve Nash and Randle ended up injured for the rest of the season.
L.A., however, did make some key steals during the offseason. They acquired former Rockets point guard, Jeremy Lin, and former Bulls power forward, Carlos Boozer, who provided high value in the game of basketball. It seems to be that the Lakers are trying to climb back up as the season passes by– but the question in all the minds of the Lakers fan base remains, “Will they come back?”
