Should schools ban cell phones or invest in them?
Once cell phones were invented, people realized that the use of them can cause a rather big distraction. Throughout the years, phones have been improving through time. Instead of banning them, schools should really be investing in them. Smart phones can make it easier to turn in assignments teachers ask for. They also make it a faster and easier way to look up information that students and teachers need. Teachers around the country are pioneering the use of smartphones to interact with their students in class: they can be used not just for communication (messaging, etc) but also to give quizzes, to post class news, and to even collaborate on essays.
Although phones could be a distraction to some students, if students use them for the wrong use, then they simply shouldn’t be able to use them. But just because a handful of students don’t know when to use them doesn’t mean that everyone else should suffer from it.
Overall, cell phones shouldn’t be banned, they should be promoted. It could make a teacher a student’s life a whole lot easier.
