With the new Wi-Fi recently installed in classrooms, the school can open up the world to not only teachers but the students too. But yet students can’t use it. Why is that? Perhaps the district thinks we will abuse this power of unlimited access to the web. I’m sure that some students will but what’s to stop them from just using their smart phones to connect to the internet anyway?
If students can use Wi-Fi it can open up so many doors. Instead of having only one or two computers we can have many more that fit in the palm of your hand. Smartphones will transform into computers with the unlimited access to the web. It will take some policing, but doesn’t everything? Other electronic items we may carry and use—heck, even clothes– need policing too. It’s not like they don’t let us wear clothes.
Just think of all the possibilities that can be achieved. Being able to access Wi-Fi can help the student and teacher connect on a whole new level. But all these possibilities are prevented due to the fear of students abusing this power. But with great power comes great responsibility. Here’s my solution: only give the password to students the teachers feel that can handle it.
