Have you ever looked at a girl, and thought, “Wow, she’s pretty; why can’t be like her?”
Yes, I know the feeling of being insecure. I’ve experienced things in the past, and I still can’t accept a simple comment like, “You’re pretty.” You feel like you’re not “good enough.” Like nobody likes you, like you don’t fit in. Some people have experienced a major tragedy or loss in their lives and are having a difficult time in accepting this loss and adjusting to the change. Some have a poorly developed self-concept with low self-esteem, lacking belief in their personal goodness, skills or abilities. This is particularly true for teenage girls. A poor body image can make them believe that others see them in a negative light. This makes them self-conscious, tense, and anxious in dealing with others.
So many people receive negativity in their life. Never once have they received positive feedback. This results in being unaccepted, disapproved of or rejected.
Well listen up–stop being unhappy with yourself! You’re perfect, stop wishing you looked like someone else. Forget wishing people liked you as much as they liked someone else. Stop trying to get attention from the people who have hurt you. Stop hating your body, face, and personality. Love them! Without those things you wouldn’t be YOU!
And why would you want to be someone else? Be confident with who are you. Smile, it’ll draw people in. If people are hating on you, just smile, and turn the other away so they can watch you happily walk away. It’ll show them you aren’t weak, that you can take a hit.
Your happiness does not depend on others. Imperfections are what make you, YOU! Open up, find friends who are similar to what you like or love. Break your barrier or outer shell of self-doubt that you have been hiding. Breaking out of “shells” requires letting go of past hurts. Burn the past, you don’t live there today. YOU are a pretty darn amazing person; don’t let something in the past hurt you forever.
Being yourself is what attracts people. Be different, unique, and original. Don’t live the life of a copy. Don’t follow the crowd. Be different: different is much more beautiful. Be YOU, that’s the best person anyone can be.
