Club Rush was held between both lunchtime and after school. The event also included live music from a student grupo along with snacks and drinks for purchase.
One of the students, Luis Ramirez said, “It was good, it felt expressive and full of life and was fun to get insight into all the activities there are in the school.”
The Back to School Night portion of the event was held after the Club Rush.

Beginning with the CHS spotlight in the Whitmer auditorium, Colton High Principal John Abbott introduced students to the school and had three students from different programs in the school featured so they could share their experiences with the families.
Performances from both Cheer and Marching Band had the auditorium filled with cheers and pride before families would continue onto their class visits.
Class visits give parents an idea on how their classroom functions and gives teachers an opportunity to share their curriculum and goals for the students. AP and Honors Calculus teacher Calvin Cardenas said, “It’s exciting to meet new parents who are there to support their students and it’s always a good thing to have parental involvement.”
Concluding the event, Abbott was fond of the event saying, “This year we had more turnout with our families than we’ve had in past years…I love it, anytime we get together as a community, that’s what this is about.”
