Colton, CA—On February 7, 2025, Colton High’s ASB coordinated the annual Winter Pep Rally and brought the hype to the Hubbs Gym to recognize achievements in sports and academics.
The theme of the rally was based on Fortnite and ASB had a Fortnite themed spirit week where students had to dress up or follow the activities such as “Anything, but a backpack day” or “dress in camo”. On Friday each grade had to wear their class colors which were: white for Freshmen, pink for Sophomores, red for Juniors, and blue for Seniors.
To go with the theme on Thursday, February 6, small “loot llamas” (a colorful llama from the game “Fortnite” that contains prizes inside” were hidden around the school and if anyone was able to find them, they were meant to hold onto them until the rally where they were able to receive an actual prize.
The rally contained performances from NJROTC, Cheer, Colorguard, Feel the Rhythm, and Band. With Feel the Rhythm and NJROTC rallying the most applause for their intense performances.
For Feel the Rhythms second Pep Rally performance at Colton High, they seem to be getting better and better as they got the crowds to stomp their feet
One of the surprises that happened during the second rally was the Rotary Club speech team announcement, the same day as the rally, Rotary Club had secured first, second and third place titles in the competition. Afterwards, the Rotary Club team had attended the second rally where Senior and third place winner Diana Ruvalcaba stated to the entire crowd “Shoutout to the freedom of speech!”
As fun as it was, unfortunately one of the blue Fortnite props was stolen from ASB during the Pep Rally’s and it is unclear who took it.
