Colton, CA—Even though Colton High is back in person, Back-to-School Night will be held virtually on Thursday, August 26th, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Due to the risk of increasing the spread of COVID by having parents and guardians on campus, administration—with the support of the CJUSD district office—changed the setting of Back-to-School Night from in-person to online.

This change is especially important as no one has a definitive number as to how many people will attend the event.

Principal Joda Murphy said, “It was decided by our supervisors that it is best to hold the Back-to-School Nights virtual. At Colton High School, we are making every effort to slow the spread of COVID. We are hoping for a large turnout of families to our Back-to-School Night so that our community is aware of the great things our teachers are doing in the classroom.”

Emails will be sent out with links to meetings and teacher videos prepared to support parental engagement.

Ms. Danielle Fernandez, Assistant Principal, added, “I am very excited for the ability to pivot in such a short amount of time because of the planning that went into our Back-to-School Night virtually last year. I am eager to see parents and students interacting virtually to ensure that our community is being as safe as possible during these changing times.”
