Coachella and Stagecoach Cancelled Again Due to COVID-19

Samantha Reynoso, Reporter

Coachella is one of the most popular annual music festivals that is usually held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California that lasts 3 days. Over the 3 days, some of the biggest musical artists like; Blackpink, AC/DC, Gorillaz, Beyonce, and so many more would perform along with underground/ upcoming artists. Popular social media influencers would also attend the popular festival. As well as the popular festival, Stagecoach which is similar to Coachella but focuses more on the genre of Country Music and have country artists perform, rather than a variety of genres of music that Coachella caters to.

With both festivals being so popular, they usually have an attendance of at least 90,000 people. When COVID-19 first hit many people thought it wouldn’t really affect concerts/music festivals since no one thought COVID would last this long. However, with COVID-19 becoming more serious, Music festivals and concert regulations were changed in 2020. Causing many concerts and festivals like Coachella to cancel and reschedule.

But this year with COVID still being so big it has been cancelled again for the second year in a row. This is just one of the many things COVID-19 has changed for us.
