Samantha Reynoso, Reporter

You may or may not have heard of the popular event called Comic Con. Comic Con is held in San Diego and is a multi-genre entertainment and comic book convention that is held annually and is non-profit.

The first ever Comic Con was held in 1970. Around 130,000 people attend Comic Con yearly. Many people enjoy going because; of the various panels you can view and buy from, the people you can meet, and the celebrities you can see. But what everyone looks forward to most is dressing up and cosplaying.

Almost everyone that goes to Comic Con dress up in costumes that they’ve put a lot of time and effort into. People can dress up as whatever they want and that’s what makes it so fun. People will usually go as Marvel/DC characters or anime characters, but it’s also common for people to dress up as movie/tv show characters and even video game characters. For example; Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, Pennywise the clown from It, or Kitana from Mortal Kombat.

However, because of Covid-19 this great event will sadly not be held this year. But in an NBC LA interview the CEO of Comikaze Entertainment said that they will be moving the event to September 24-26 2021. Many fans and venders were devastated to hear this information since this is such a big event.
