In Montecito, California, a devastating mudslide occured. Residents of Montecito ignored the warnings, thinking nothing of them, and paid the price when the mudslide came. Currently, the death toll has reached seventeen, and hopefully does not rise any more.

A 14 year old girl, who was swept away by the slide, got trapped under mud and more wreckage. Thankfully, she was rescued by first responders. “I thought I was dead for a minute there,” said the girl who was rescued. This will be a tragedy to remember for the rest of 2018. It’s sad how people ignore warnings and eventually they pay the price.
