Scientist discover "new" organ

Ever wonder what connect your intestines to your abdomen. Well, it’s the single organed mesentery. It has been a hidden organ not found until now. The mesentery has always been in the body conducting important cardiovascular, endocrine, vascular, and immunological functions throughout. Mayo Clinic defines the mesentery as “a fold of membrane that attaches to the abdominal wall and holds it in place.” It’s function isn’t fully realized yet, and when scientists can approach it like every other organ, they will begin categorizing abdominal disease in this organ.

Dr. J. Calvin Coffey from the University of Limerick has classified it as a continuous organ of the digestive system. His recent studies of the mesentery has made it in the most latest edition of “Grey’s Anatomy”, the #1 book for medical students around the world.
