Winter concert is a hit
December 5, 2016
November 30, 2016 was an amazing experience for the band and choir. After many hard working days they finally had their first performance of the year. In this performance you could see the blood, sweat, and tears every single person put into that concert. As the crowd watch this amazing performance the were all shocked to hear the incredible voices as each person possessed.
As the audience walked into the auditorium they were met with the jazz band playing great songs from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. They were the first little taste of the greatness that was to come. As they played “Eye of the Tiger” and the first choir was getting in position, the crowd was at the edge of their seats. As the band played great songs, we became pumped up for this entire concert. We were gleeful at the choir’s christmas themed songs, and we were all ready for the one song all of us were excited to hear, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. When the music came over the speakers, we heard the men of both choirs put on their best voices and blow the crowd away with their great verse. As this concert came to a close the marching band put on an incredible performance as it was full of solos and pumped up songs.
At the end of this day this performance was stellar. Everyone did their absolute best, as the Colton High Marching band stole the show. Band president and senior at Colton High, Veronica Juarez says “ The concert went amazing. This was the biggest turnout; I can’t wait for the next one.” The crowd was captivated by the emotion put in these songs. Juarez said “ I’m happy with the performance because everyone tried their best to bring the greatest possible outcome.” As a senior Juarez says “I look forward to all the performances this year, it’s my last year and I want to perform as many times as possible.” Throughout the years the crowd as always enjoyed the band’s concerts. As seen from the crowd’s expression, they weren’t ready to let the concert end, as they are excited for the spring concert and to honor their seniors.
