It’s bad enough to be a small, unwanted infant. But to end your brief life in a stinking garbage can in an alley in Colton is beyond the pale. And that’s what happened earlier this month. An infant was found dead near a trash can here in Colton. To think that someone could be this heartless left everyone in shock. There are different alternatives the parents of the infant could have done. For example, they could have left the newborn at a fire station, police station, or even at a foster home.
Since the police haven’t found the person who committed the crime, the identity of the baby is still a mystery. To know that this baby was left to die before it could even be named makes this tragedy even more heart breaking. The baby was pronounced dead around 11:30 am, on the 900 Block of North 7th st.
The baby was wrapped in a blanket and the infant was about a week old. police said.
It all started when police authorities received a call that there was a newborn left for abandonment around 11:30 pm. on Thursday, Jan. 1. Then, police found the newborn dead the next morning. Authorities are saying the infant’s death was caused due to the low temperature that night. Police are treating the death of the baby as a homicide and are still looking for the murders.
Police are asking if anyone has any information about this case call detectives at (909)-370-5021. Police are still investigating on to this crime
