This past December, Colton High School opened their “Parent Resource Center”, which seeks to provide help to the families of students through resources and services available in the Colton community. The PRC provides information, phone numbers, and locations of many services provided in the community, all free of charge.
They also provide many services of their own, such as keeping track of your child’s educational progress, emergency food and clothing, emergency shelters info, confidential assistance, use of the PRC computer to check grades or apply for jobs, leadership opportunities through volunteering or the English Learner Advisory Committee, and much more. They also offer several classes and parenting workshops which include (but are not limited to) ESL classes, nutrition, how to deal with teens, teen depression, bullying, substance abuse, budgeting, and saving energy and money.
The PRC is located at Colton High in room 31 and is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For any questions you may have, you can contact them by phone at (909) 580-5005 ext. 2327, or email the Community Liaison, Juan Camarena at [email protected] or simply ask to speak with Camarena in the front office of the school during regular school hours.
