Have you heard about “project 416” or “#semicolon416” ? Seen photos of semi colons across teens’ wrists on Twitter or Instagram?
This social media project concerns everyone who has ever self-harmed, is suicidal , depressed, has anxiety, is unhappy , going through a heart break, or lost somebody. On Tuesday; April 16, 2013 every teen has posted pictures on our social media Twitter and Instagram. 278, 468 pictures have been posted, all of teens with semi colons.
A semi colon represents a sentence the author could’ve ended, but chose not to. The author is you, and the un-finished sentence is your life. Be the person that tells their story. You might not know it could inspire people to stay strong and continue with life. Experience many beautiful things in life; pain does not always last forever.
It’ll give people another reason to look forward to things in life: to carry on, and see that others have also gone through. These people live on to tell their experience and made it out. Spread the word, live to tell your story. You might not know, it could help somebody else suffering through the same situation.
