C-C-COL-T-T-TON COL-TON GO COLTON!
Our very own campus security guard Lisa Villa has started the first ever Colton Pride club. As a graduate herself Villa has as much pride as anyone in Colton. She wishes that the school’s current students take in and show the delight she had when she went here.
Throughout the football season some of the students involved in this club have gathered together at the stadium along with Villa and her family to show support for our team. “I don’t want this to only be for football, it should be for every sport and event” says Villa, in hopes that everyone willing to go to and pump up any and all of our sporting teams.
She also wants it to expand on making the campus a more welcoming place. “Anyone can join,” says Villa, “even the students who don’t really socialize well with others; I want them to share this one thing in common and make new friends.” One of the ideas Villa had in order to achieve this is making the senior benches a bigger place. “I see the kids that sit there and I know that they aren’t the only seniors in the school, every senior should have the experience of sitting there.” Villa hopes that these ideas are sought through the upcoming Beautification Project.
This club has already been approved by the administrative board and is finally holding meetings every Wednesday right after school in room 215. Anyone is welcome to come and show their love for the school and community.
