Emily Prada is the Women’s Tennis Captain and the Head Dance Coordinator for the Hip Hop Club at Colton High; while she takes the lead of these programs, the question is raised on how she is able to command these teams.
The Price To Pay Of Doing Both
Prada has a lot on her plate which can cause easy distractions and unnecessary tribulations but she doesn’t allow the pressure to get to her. “ I manage my time between the two,” Prada said after being asked how she finds the time between her roles.
Monday’s and Friday’s are dedicated to the dance club as on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Prada gives her attention to tennis. With so much responsibility with her extracurriculars you would think it would affect her grades but it doesn’t at all, “My grades are where I want them to be so it’s easy to take care of the other stuff” said Prada.
Preparation
Prada’s preparation for both tennis and the dance club plays a huge part in her success. “I prepare myself for two, sometimes three hours for tennis and about the same amount for dance. But I’m used to doing both already. It’s kinda become a habit,” she said.
The future
With having such success and skill in both tennis and dance you would think Prada would want to pursue at least one at the next level, but with Prada that’s not the case.
She said “I’m gonna do both as more of a side hobby and focus more on what I wanna major in which is English.” The future looks extremely promising for Emily as she continues growing and working towards her dream.
