The Pop Band “Full Circle Boys”, formed in July of 2021, were brought together to perform for the students of Colton High at the “Feel Good Festival”, put on by High School Nation and Hollister earlier this year on May 9th. On September 27th, the group came back for a second performance at the College and Career Readiness Assembly and this time, we were lucky enough to land an interview with the members.
Pepper Bough Staff: Can I get your names and the roles you guys play in the band?
Jagger: I’m Jagger, I play dad
Ollie: Im Ollie and I play baby
Dawson: I’m Dawson, I’m just a nice guy
James: I’m James, I guess I play mom.
Sean: Hi, I’m Sean. I play as the deep thinker.
Pepper Bough Staff: Nice to meet you guys, I heard you guys performed at America’s Got Talent, how did that make you guys feel (was there any anxiety you guys experienced)?
Jagger: Did we? We had a great experience but, I can’t say anything past that.
Dawson: Fun. Nerves were there but it was a great experience.
Pepper Bough Staff: I know you guys also performed at the Hollywood Bowl, how did you guys feel about that considering it’s such a big deal?
Jagger: It was just such an honor because so many legends have performed there. Like we were literally in a dressing room and a photo of the Beatles hanging out in the same dressing room was outside and it was just a crazy feeling. It was sick.
Dawson: Yeah, we had a great time. You know Hollywood bowl is just such a great place to be, so it was amazing.
Ollie: The nerves were definitely there. So crazy.
Pepper Bough Staff: Just by observing your dances, I can tell you get a lot of inspiration from Michael Jackson. Is he your biggest inspiration and are there other inspirations as well?
Jagger: I would say he’s probably our biggest inspiration when it comes to performing. And just like artistry in general, there’s a lot of great artists out there, but everybody’s trying to do it like him.
Pepper Bough Staff: Do you guys have any intention of releasing an album? I noticed that your discography is a bunch of singles and EPs, but not yet any albums.
Ollie: Yeah. We’re totally hoping to release an album. It’s just dependent on the fan base, and especially because of the music releasing culture right now, it’s single based, especially to grow the fandom. So once we have that fan base that’s ready for an album, or really, we’ll release it, so just strengthen numbers right now.
Dawson: Yeah, it’s up to the fans. It’s up to you guys.
Pepper Bough Staff: How did you guys feel when you guys almost hit 200,000 like streams on Spotify, on your single “insane”?
James: I mean, it’s definitely been a journey. Every stream counts, obviously, but, yeah, no, it feels great.
Pepper Bough Staff: So what was the funnest song that you have ever made in the studio?
Jagger : I’d have to, it’s not out yet, but one of our upcoming singles, I had the best, I think it’s the most fun I’ve ever had recording a song. I think our vocal engineer, Richard. He was laughing at me in the booth. He was like, I wish somebody was filming you, because I was just living, you can’t see it on the recording, but I’m going like this just while I’m recording the song. So, yeah, that’s what. That’s my favorite.
Ollie: I would have to say I know which song he’s talking about, and I’d have to say that one too, because we had a great time. It was just all good vibes. You know, everybody was just laughing, having a good time.
Dawson: I’d also agree. I mean, it’s, we’ve only done a we don’t have that many songs together yet as this five, so it’s definitely gonna have to be that up and coming song that you guys are gonna hear soon. But yeah, it was a great time. We just dropped harmonies, doing it all, smiling, having fun.
James: I agree as well. But “Call My Name” was really fun as well. We all recorded the entire song individually, and then they kind of picked apart. So that was really interesting.
Sean: Yeah, to continue on what they’re saying , that was such a great experience, because we got to work with a tricky store for the first time, and we actually went to Atlanta, which we had. None of us had ever been to Atlanta before. So going to Atlanta and recording new music with a music legend like a tricky store was awesome.
Pepper Bough Staff: What kind of genres of music are you guys into producing? I know it’s a lot of pop, but are there other subgenres because there are some songs I heard from you guys that don’t sound like typical pop.
Jagger: I think the next couple singles are a bit more funkier, a bit like, inspired by disco ish, but still in the pop realm. And then I think we have, we also have a song coming out in a couple months that’s very Daft Punk type, like what they used to make with the weekends. So, yeah, that’s kind of where we’re heading in the next couple months.
