Cancer Awareness Month brings to light the heartbreak of this serious disease
October 28, 2017
Cancer Awareness Month is a month that appreciates all lives that have been taken, and the lives that are trying to fight cancer. Cancer is horrifying and can cause so many lives to be taken away. I’ve had experiences with my family having cancer, and it’s absolutely scary to see that someone you love can be going through the toughest times in their life, without knowing if they’re going to make it or not.
My experience with most of my family having cancer was extremely tough for my family especially because there were 4 people that had breast cancer. I’m sharing my family’s experience to show that anyone can get it. It’s extremely horrifying to see that so many lives can be in danger just because of the disease. There are about 100 types of cancer, yet 10 are the deadliest. In my family cancer is genetic, and it’s crazy to know how one’s life can be taken away so easily. The chemotherapy has been well known to give up on the lives I’ve loved in my family.
During October, Cancer Awareness Month, I encourage people to check up on their loved ones that have cancer, and to try to get close with them before anything bad happens. Colton High School usually does a Cancer Awareness program that has informational booths to try and inform you on Cancer and how you or someone else can fight through it.
Be strong through the whole process. At the program there are face paintings, and a walk to raise money for cancer patients that are in need. I believe it may help a lot of people.
