Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Sept. 6
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
On November 11, 1983 the Colton High School Blood Drive “. . . Was a 100 percent success,” according to Ken Pure, Key Club adviser and shop teacher.
Seventy-seven pints of blood were drawn that week, even though 23 students and teachers as a whole were turned away due to the fact that they were unable to meet the health requirements required to donate blood.
On September 14th, the HEAL Pathway is hosting its first blood drive for the 2022-23 school year. Don’t forget to sign-up to donate by September 7. According to LifeStream, the organization with whom the HEAL Pathway is partnering for this year’s blood drive, to donate you must be:
- At least 15 years old
- Weigh at least 115 pounds (donors ages 15-18: click here for height-weight requirements)
- Be in general good health
- Wear a face covering.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
