In 1983, CHS Drama performed “Anne Frank” for Colton High.
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
On November 17 and 19, 1983 the drama“Anne Frank” drama was performed in the Whitmer Auditorium.
Faculty director Steve Mackay explained that the play was chosen because it has an equal number of men and women and it has quality drama.
He also later mentions that although we know how it ends, we just have to try to find a message in her work.
According to Chris Gardner in his play review from 1983, the play was a complete success, and “The acting in this work is so superior that it is hard to single anyone’s performance.”
“The Diary of Anne Frank” was an amazing book, and according to Gardner, the play was just as good.
