Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Dec. 2
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
The 1963 Crimson & Gold was dedicated to Mrs. Frances Galloway, School Board President, who gave 25 years to Colton High School and the community. She was instrumental to guiding the transition to opening Bloomington High School.
Galloway was really helpful when it came to student activities both on and off-campus. She was a considerate woman and was known for her pleasing smile and kindness.
As Board President, Galloway helped determine district policies. She was also was responsible for the School Board approval of activities, like off-campus dances.
Galloway was very loyal to the education of students whether or not they attended Colton High School.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
