Dave Rainey served as Pepper Bough adviser from 1995-2021. Here he is, playing the blues at the GTHS Battle of the Bands in 2015.

Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.

Mr. David Rainey had a bright spirit that made many want to come to his class.

In the 2014 Crimson & Gold, it reads, “Mr. Rainey loves what he does.”

Rainey—or “Rain Dog,” as his students lovingly referred to him—served as Pepper Bough adviser from 1995 until his retirement in 2021. Even after retirement, he has stayed involved in the community by texting people who had him 2020-2021 if they needed help.

He truly was a great teacher.
