Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Nov. 11
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
2010’s “Crimson & Gold” is dedicated to Mrs. Tracie Ramirez, who passed away on September 17, 2009 at the age of 44.
Tracie was well loved by those whose lives she touched. She was an admired Track coach at Colton High School for many years till her tragic death. She also coached the girls softball team and served in the CJUSD Home-Hospital program for students who cannot be taught on campus.
To her students and athletes, Tracie Ramirez was more than just a teacher; she personally knew many families here in Colton. She knew at least one kid in any class on campus. Colton respected and loved her.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
