Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Nov. 10
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
Kristen Tornero, CHS English teacher extraordinaire, is a Colton High School alum. She graduated with the class of 1986, and has been teaching in these hallowed halls since 1991.
When Tornero—then named Kristen Kurr—was a student at CHS, she was part of the Colton High field hockey team, swim team and the Pepper Bough staff. As part of the field hockey team in 1986, they took the league title, going 12-0-2.
Now, Tornero gives her all for her students, teaching AP English Literature and ERWC (the Cal State San Bernardino Expository Reading Writing Curriculum) for our CHS seniors.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
