Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Nov. 2
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
This month’s “Fact of the Day” is dedicated to the Colton High School staff who have influenced the lives of thousands of Colton youth over the years, for whom we are forever grateful.
During second semester of the 1973-1974 school year, Mr. Frank Miller introduced the first Computer Programming class at Colton High School. Mr. Miller was in his first year of many at Colton High, and already known for his playful, innovative spirit. This class, according to the Crimson & Gold, enabled him to support his students in exploring “the realms of abstract concepts with the aid of a new computer system.”
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
