Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Oct. 29
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
The entire community came out for the Colton Homecoming Parade on September 27, 2013. They lined the streets as vendors sold concessions. The Homecoming court picked their convertible rides, the band marched, and Colton pride swelled.
That night, the Yellowjackets faced off against San Gorgonio for a non league Homecoming match-up, but fell short in a hotly contested game, 42-39. Junior Deandre Graham ran for 207 yards including an electric 79-yard touchdown run.
At halftime, Katya Dominguez was crowned Homecoming Queen. At the Homecoming Dance the following night, Andres Alcaraz joined her in the spotlight as that year’s Homecoming King.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
