The Colton Vibe – Songs of the Week
August 27, 2021
Welcome to the Colton Vibe, our weekly look at the songs that should be playing in your airpods right now.
This is a decent new music Friday. Although some expected albums did not come out, there is more than enough new music to tide you over through next week.
Check these tracks out:
“family ties” – Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar
The long-awaited return of Kendrick. This track off of Baby Keem’s upcoming album is arguably the best single so far. The song’s multiple beat switches and flow changes remind us fans that Kendrick is back and Keem is only going up from here.
“Still In Love” – Jaden
Jaden, who recently came out with his Day trippers edition of CTV3, does not disappoint. His light vocals and soft beats create a beautiful tone.
“CHOPPA SHOOT THE LOUDEST” – Lil Tecca, Chief Keef and Trippie Redd
With the new release of “We Love You Tecca 2” this is the track that stood out to me. The voices from all shin but Chief Keef takes the show. The snith in the back through the song adds that spice, well the 808s are the backbone of the track.
“Butter” – BTS and Megan Thee Stallion
After recent drama with her label, many fans were surprised to see this track feature Megan. She adds a verse that flows well with the “Butter” beat we all know. Add in her ad libs, this is an unexpected feature that works.
“Keeper” – OHGEESY and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie
This song off of OHGEESY’s long awaited debut solo album “GEEZYWORLD” is what most expect from these two rappers. A Boogie comes with a clean hook while GEESY slides on the beat like his classic songs.
